Tower Heist Trailer
You know what, I knew Eddie Murphy still had something left and Tower Heist shows that. Its like he's channelling Reggie Hammond and bringing him back to the screen.

Add to this Ben Stiller, Michael Pena, Casey Affleck and Matthew Broderick and you have a pretty solid cast.

New NSFW Red State Trailer
Kevin Smith is another director who has seemingly signalled his intention to retire from the directors chair and take up Smodcasting. Shame. When Smith is on his game he's pretty much untouchable.

After watching the latest trailer for Red State my disappointment in his impending retirement is heightened due to ferocious awesomeness of what is on offer here.

The Ides Of March Trailer
There are few actors that immediately draw my attention to a film. Two of these include Paul Giamatti, who incidentally, I rate as the best actor working today, and Philip Seymour Hoffman.

So its a very pleasant surprise to find that The Ides Of March contains both of them.

Battleship Trailer
Well I certainly wasn't expecting that. A movie based on a board game probably won't excite that many people, me included, but the trailer does a really good job of persuading them otherwise.

I'd not seen or read anything about Battleship so was unsure what to expect, maybe something like War Games? How wrong could I be.

The Original Opening To Superman Returns
I pretty much think Superman Returns sucked. It didn't do anything for me and to be perfectly honest I was pretty bored by the whole thing.

So when you find out that a crap film cut out a $10 Million opening sequence you start to wonder just how much money was wasted.

Simon Peggs Secret Film Revealed
Peggs been keeping this under wraps for a while, hinting with anticipating tweets about what he's currently up to. The rascal.

Well those of you who have been wondering may wonder no more as the full details of his new film have just been released. And no, its not Guest House Paradiso 2.

Harry Potter Based On David Copperfield's Life?
This is just shocking. I've always been sceptical of the Harry Potter franchise, I've always thought that the story was just too fantastic to be fiction. It had to be real. This had to be based on Fact.

And now that fact is revealed. In what some would consider the ultimate reveal we find out the truth behind Harry Potter.

Snow White And The Huntsman Images
The first character images for the new live action Snow White film have been released, as well as a low quality picture of the eight (huh?) dwarves.

Can't say I'm that interested in this but with Snow White being one of the best loved fairy tales ever I thought that others may well be.

Intruders Trailer
I think its been well documented on the blog that I'm a big fan of the horror genre. More often than not it lets me down but I always go back for more.

The trailer for Intruders does have me intrigued, it looks to have a different feel than most of the other shockers out there, but I'm trying to reign in my enthusiasm.

Margin Call Trailer
I like a good drama. Something with substance that I can really get my teeth into. Margin Call looks like it could be one of those movies.

A solid story, strong cast and a subject matter that is very relevant today, financial collapse. What more could you want? Dinosaurs? No, fraid not.

Jurassic Park 4 - Coming Soon(ish)
Rumours about a fourth Jurassic Park film have been rife for some time now and although they were interesting rumours nobody really took them seriously.

Until now. Rumours have changed to stone cold facts due to the announcement from Steven Spielberg himself that a story now exists. Crikey.

Knights Of Badassdom Trailer
I doubt that anyone who reads this blog actually carries out fantasy role playing adventures in the park with their friends. LARPing I believe its called.

That being said I think there'll be a good few readers who'll enjoy the trailer for Knights Of Badassdom because it looks like a big heap of stupid fun.

The Hobbit Dwarfs Revealed
I've been deliberately holding off posting the group pictures of the dwarfs from The Hobbit purely because I hate drip fed information. I knew a group reveal was coming so was happy to wait for that.

And here it is! All thirteen are present and correct and look really quite foreboding.

Paranormal Activity 3 Trailer
The first one was okay (just) but certainly not scary, the second one was just plain boring, so naturally we get a third. We shouldn't, but we do.

The trailer for Paranormal Activity 3 has landed and throws up more of the same camcorder type 'scares'. To be fair it could be more interesting that the second one based on the content.

First Set Picture From Prometheus
Its not much but its still worth a post none the less. The first official picture has been released from Ridley Scott's new Alien movie.

Don't get excited, there's no xenomorphs or Space Jockeys on display just someone in a spacesuit either falling or being blown off their feet. I still geeked out over it though.

Escape From New York Remake Cancelled
Rejoice, for today I bring good remake news. Yes the ongoing Escape From new York remake looks to be dead in the water. Thank the movie gods for this!

Its been bounded around for god knows how long with multiple directors and leads attached but today came the announcement that it has all been binned.

The Hobbit Video Diary 3
The Hobbit production may be on a break at the moment, as evidenced in the second video blog, but that hasn't stopped number three from being released.

Less talk and more watching needed here - I've said all I need to about this in previous posts.

The Amazing Spiderman Teaser Trailer
So Batman had his teaser a few days ago and so not to be outdone Spiderman's trailer has now hit the web. Do you see what I did there?

It shows a fair bit more than The Dark Knight Rises yet still keeps a lot of things up its sleeve. Its a good trailer but I'm not sold on one bit of it.

Dream House Trailer
Well .... ermmmm .... what? This trailer needs to come with a warning - If you want to see this film, DO NOT watch the trailer.

I have no idea why this trailer has been released the way it has because it looks to give away the whole story, twist and ending in just shy of of two and half minutes.

Bruce Campbell To Cameo In Evil Dead Remake
While it's good that we're going to see Bruce Campbell in another Evil Dead film, and the chances are that he will be playing Ash, there's some rather more disappointing news.

Diablo Cody has been hired to rewrite the script. Well that just takes away every ounce of enthusiasm (and there wasn't a great deal) I had about this project.

Captain Planet - The Movie
Captain Planet, he's our hero. Gunna take pollution down to zero. Ah if only kids. Well he didn't do so good in the cartoons so maybe he'll fare better in his own movie.

In what could possibly be a remake of Superman IV (seriously nobody wants that) Captain Planet looks to be heading to a cinema screen near you. Oi pick up your popcorn!

Worst Boxer Ever - The Movie
In a world full of Rocky's, La Motta's, Braddock's and Ward's there doesn't seem to be any room for the little, lesser known boxers of the world.

Well that looks to be changing as it would appear that a movie based on Peter Buckley's career is in the works. Not heard of him? What if I told you he's dubbed 'The Worst Boxer Of All Time'. Interested now?

Ripley Wants To Take On More Aliens?
I think during this interview Sigourney Weaver had her tongue firmly in cheek but never the less its been picked up and is being reported as news.

It looks like Weaver wants one more pop at the xenomorph's stating that she'd love to reprise Ellen Ripley. Hmmm not sure if I agree with you on this one.

Kevin Costner For Django Unchained
Things are looking up for Kevin Costner these days. Not only has he snagged the coveted role of Superman's dad he's now supposedly signed on for Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained.

I've always had a soft spot for Costner after seeing him in The Untouchables and JFK and yes, Waterworld isn't that bad, so its good news to hear this.

Universal Pass On The Dark Tower
Well what do you think about this Dark Tower fans? Universal have decided to pass on Ron Howard's plan to adapt The Dark Tower into a selection of movies and a TV series.

It seems the company wanted to run with one film and see how that went but Howard and co passed on this stating that it'd be unfair to just produce one iteration.

The Dark Knight Teaser Trailer
Is there anyone out there that isn't excited about part three of Nolan's Batman trilogy? No didn't think so.

Well just to fuel that excitement and after an age of waiting we get our first, official, look at The Dark Knight Rises. Its brief but filled with tension.

Hugo Trailer
The new trailer for Martin Scorsese's Hugo has just been released and what a change in direction and genre for the little man with the huge eyebrows.

A fantasy adventure filled with slapstick and magic? Goodfellas this certainly is not albeit it still looks rather good. Shouldn't be surprise, it is Scorsese after all.

The Thing 2011 Trailer
Its here. The trailer for The Thing prequel is now available for your viewing pleasure. As I mentioned a few days ago I was really looking forward to it. So .... how does the trailer fare?

Very well is the answer. I'm loving to acknowledgement to Carpenter's original as well as the general feel of the thing. Pun intended.

Contagion Trailer
I have a strange relationship with Steven Soderbergh and his movies. On the one hand he can gives us greats like Sex, Lies And Videotape, Erin Brockovich (Even Julia Roberts can't spoil that) and of course Traffic.

Then he'll deliver pretentious, self indulgent trash like the Oceans trilogy and Solaris. Well he has a new film coming out called Contagion, and it may well be one of his last.

Review: An Education (12A) ★★★★
A coming-of-age story about a teenage girl in 1960s suburban London.

About a month ago I saw An Education in the sale and after half-remembering a friend’s recommendation I bought it on blu-ray and stuck it on my bookcase, where it sat in its cellophane wrapper until last night.

Schwarzenegger Is Back In The Last Stand
Throughout Arnold's film career he's constantly told us that he'll be back. Well, after that very public fallout with his wife, the Austrian Oak has indeed returned to the world of film.

He's just officially signed on to star in Jee Woon-Kim's The Last Stand, described very simply as 'a kind of western'. Sounds intriguing.

Ed Norton For Bourne Legacy
At first I was dead set against another Bourne movie without Matt Damon. But then they went and cast Jeremy Renner and my apprehension diminished slightly.

Now, with news that Edward Norton is close to signing on to play the villain in Legacy, my worries are all but gone. Almost.

Evil Dead Reboot / Remake
A little confusing this one. There seems to be two Evil Dead projects in the works so far, a reboot of the original and a remake being classed as Evil Dead 4. Confusing.

Well the reboot looks to have a director on board and Federico Alvarez be his name. No me neither, in fact he's yet to direct a movie, just a couple of shorts.

New Sherlock Holmes Trailer
I thought the first Sherlock Holmes was pretty good, certainly nothing to write home about, but enjoyable none-the-less. It did make big money at the box office however so no surprise to see this sequel.

A Game Of Two Shadows gets its first trailer but its a bit of a loud mess to be honest.

The Inbetweeners Full Trailer
After a brief teaser trailer a few weeks ago now here comes the full on Inbetweeners movie trailer. And yes it does look as good and as rude as the TV show.

We get a good look at the timeline of events from the lads finishing school, relationship issues and of course their holiday to Crete.

The Thing Poster
Really liking the look of this one. A new poster for The Thing has been released and it looks horrifyingly brilliant. I love the nod to the original as well as that tagline.

I know this isn't strictly a remake (its the story of the Norwegian camp from the first movie) but I've still got to hold it up to the original. Tough gig.

Dark Knight Teaser Poster
There have been a few fake posters released for The Dark Knight Rises. Well a few is rather kind, the web has been awash with them, but now we get our first real official teaser.

Looks like Gotham is suffering big time as the buildings seem to be crumbling and giving way to a bat shaped skylight. Coooool.

New Tintin Trailer
A fully fledged Tintin trailer is now online giving us a good luck at, well, everything really.

All the characters are given plenty of time, the plot is fully outlined and we get a better look at the mo-cap technology used to make the film.

Review: X-Men: First Class (12A) ★★★★
In 1962, Charles Xavier starts up a school and later a team, for humans with superhuman abilities. Among them is Erik Lensherr, his best friend... and future archenemy.

The general rule of franchises tends to be that the more you do the weaker the product becomes.

The Hobbit Video Diary 2
Told you I'd keep you up to date with these. The, slightly delayed, second Hobbit video diary is now finally online where you can geek out over loads of behind the scenes footage.

There's interviews with the cast, Peter Jackson himself, scouting locations and some extra Gollum thrown in just for good measure.

Jack And Jill Trailer
Seriously now Adam Sandler, you're better than this. I don't know who is blackmailing you into these films but whatever it is it's just not worth it.

I have a feeling it's either Eddie Murphy or Martin Lawrence. Maybe both. Either way just stop making these juvenile, atrocious films.

And This Is Why Lucas Sucks
We all know George Lucas is a greedy bastard. We all know he'll tarnish anything good he's created to get an extra buck (that's what Americans call money right?) out of it.

Well, just when you think he couldn't be more avaricious he goes and does something like this. Prepare to be appalled at the lack of humanity in the man.

Juan Of The Dead Trailer
This looks like an interesting film. A cuban zombie movie marketed as a zom-com? Sounds like a certain Pegg/Frost film we know.

Well even though the title and the tagline are similar this looks like its going to be quite dissimilar from Shaun with an altogether different feel.

Restless Trailer
I can be a a bit of a sentimentalist when I come across a film that immediately strikes a chord with me, Garden State is a case in point, and Restless looks like it could be in a similar vein.

Terminally ill patient strikes up a relationship with a boy who's best friend is the ghost of a Japanese kamikaze pilot? That's a hook right there.

Point Break Remake
I seem to be the bearer of bad news lately. What with the WarGames reboot wheels turning it now appears that a Point Break remake is on its way.

Yes, the guy who completed the Total Recall remake script has put together another one for Point Break and is shopping it around movie studios.

Daniel Craig Talks Girl With The Dragon Tattoo
I'm a big advocator of foreign film and also approach any sort of English remake with a sense of dread. If I'm honest I often dismiss the idea before evening seeing anything of the remake.

I shouldn't and I'm trying not too but what is helping is the American remake of The Girl With Dragon Tattoo and the news that's coming from it.

The Iron Lady Teaser
Whatever your political views, there's no denying that this is going to be intriguing. Meryl Streep as Maggie Thatcher? I'd buy that for a dollar.

So can Streep cut the mustard as Mags? Judging from this brief teaser the answer is a resounding yes. It looks like she's nailed both the voice and look which is no mean feat.

Potter Vs Star Wars
Stumbled across this during one of my many tours of the internet and thought I'd share it with you since it slightly amused me.

Someone (the origins of time have long since eroded any memory of the genius that put this together) has pieced together similarities between Harry Potter and Star Wars.

Gods Behaving Badly
I'd not heard anything about this until today, and though the plot maybe wafer thin at the moment, the cast is one of the best I've seen in a long while.

Check dis out Yo, Christoper Walken (Zeus), Edie Falco (Artemis), John Turturro (Hades), Oliver Platt (Apollo), Sharon Stone (Aphrodite), Rosie Perez (Persephone), Gideon Glick (Eros), Henry Zebrowski (Hermes) and Nelsan Ellis (Dionysus).

Spike Lee To Direct Oldboy Remake
Ah this has reared its head again has it? I thought this had long been put to sleep but it would appear someone has injected life into the Oldboy remake, that person being Spike Lee.

It would appear Steven Speilberg and Will Smith are out and angry Spike Lee is in. Now before you bemoan this remake consider the following.
