Contagion Trailer

I have a strange relationship with Steven Soderbergh and his movies. On the one hand he can gives us greats like Sex, Lies And Videotape, Erin Brockovich (Even Julia Roberts can't spoil that) and of course Traffic.

Then he'll deliver pretentious, self indulgent trash like the Oceans trilogy and Solaris. Well he has a new film coming out called Contagion, and it may well be one of his last.

If its to be believed Soderbergh is retiring from directing and Contagion looks set to be one of his last films. The new trailer that's out seems to acknowledge Robin Cook novels with echoes of 28 days later.

This would seem to be a more low key affair for Soderbergh and could get back to the great character work he did in Brockovich and Traffic. It will also be helped by the fact that he's managed to get a whole host of great actors together including Matt Damon, Marion Cotillard, Kate Winslet and John Hawkes among others (not including Gwyneth Paltrow *shudders*).
