Some, in fact I'm guessing most, will consider this sacrilege while others may be genuinely excited by the news. For me its certainly the first.
Blade Runner is one of the most identifiable films of the sci-fi genre. It's considered a classic and consistently tops many film polls, so to think of a *gulps* sequel or even a prequel standing alongside this behemoth of a movie is something I'm not overly keen on.
Scott has apparently signed on to direct and produce but no script or story exists at this time so who knows it may all come to nothing.
That being said I said pretty much the same thing when it was announced he was working on a new Alien film, and look where we are with that now ......
