The Rock Producing 80's Wrestling TV Series

www.tips-fb.com
We don't usually cover TV stuff here on the blog but since this is a subject close to my childhood heart I thought I'd share it with everyone.

It's been announced that The Rock and Jerry Bruckheimer are producing a TV series that follows the rise of the WWF (now WWE) through the 80's and 90's. Brilliant.

Now there's no real details on what the style of the show will be but it would appear that they're looking for actors to fill the boots of the wrestlers and of course, the fulcrum of the WWE, Vince McMahon. This would suggest that rather than going for a straight forward documentary using old stock footage (see Beyond The Matt) they're going for a more dramatic and cinematic theme.

It's an interesting proposition but due to The Rock's affiliation with the WWE would they be brave enough to show the real story?  The steroid abuse, McMahon's unconventional methods and of course the controversial story lines? Doubtful but you never know.

Makes you wonder who would play the role of legends like Hulk Hogan, The Ultimate Warrior and Mr Perfect? Any suggestions? Chris Hemsworth as The Warrior anyone?
