Napster Documentary On The Way

www.tips-fb.com
They touched on Napster briefly in The Social Network but Alex Winter, yes Bill from Bill and Ted, has decided to go one step further and bring the true story of the file sharing App to the big screen.

Winter claims that it was originally going to be fictionalised movie but has now decided on the documentary route.

He had this to say:

"Napster and the birth of file sharing technology made possible everything from Wikileaks to the iPod to Facebook," Winter tells Deadline. "It became an expression of youth revolt, and contributed to a complete shift in how information, media and governments work. And it is a fascinating human story, where this 18-year-old kid invents a peer-to-peer file-sharing system, and brings it to the world six months later."

I remember Napster, and dare I say that I used to use it? Probably with the audience this blog pulls in, so I'm quite interested in this.

Anyone else?
