Tom Cruise In Talks For One Shot

A weird one this, I've never heard of One Shot but there's apparently quite a lot of other people that have. One of these people is Tom Cruise who is in talks to star as the lead Jack Reacher.

For others that haven't heard of the novel here's the basic premise
"One Shot is the ninth in the Reacher series about the gruff former military policeman turned drifter, who has a habit of dishing out brutal violence to anyone who gets in his way. In One Shot, he investigates the case of a lone sniper murdering people before he’s caught, and discovers that there’s far more to the killings than anyone suspects."

And here's the weird bit, the character in the novel is said to be a towering 6' 5". Errmmm isn't Tom Cruise a little short to be playing this type of character?
