The much more interesting news is that he'll play Alberto Falcone. Yup he's going to play the son of Carmine Falone (Tom Wilkinson) who appeared in Batman Begins.
Now the character has appeared in previous Batman comic outings as the psychopathic serial murderer The Holiday Killer, who picks off criminals linked to his father. However I'm sure Nolan will have his own plans for the character and what is role will be.
The Dark Knight Rises will most probably be Nolan's last Batman before he hands back to Joel Schumacher for Batman and Robin 2 (kidding - hopefully) so it's nice to see he's closing the loop on the trilogy.
Gordon Levitt joins Tom Hardy and Anne Hathaway as the big name signings so far. More details on the film when we get them.
Update 22/03 - Apparently this is a half truth, Gordon-Levitt has been cast but won't be playing Alberto Falcone. Damn those rumours, damn them all to hell!!
