Michael J Fox won the Lifetime Achievement Golden Camera award in Berlin the other day, and truly deserved it was.
Fox was presented the award by Danny DeVito and stated that he was 'truly humbled' and also joked 'I remember back in 1985 getting an award for Best Newcomer. Now I'm on stage with Danny DeVito as one of the old timers'. What a guy.
Fox, who has Parkinson's disease, truly seemed one of Hollywood's good guys and its such a shame that he was struck with the illness. He has continued to work but has restricted himself more to TV roles but it's such a shame that this disease interrupted and affected his film career.
Many of us who were brought up with a healthy supply of mid-eighties family movies will always see Fox as Marty Mcfly, but he had a much more wide and broad range shown in films like Casualties Of War and The Hard Way.
A really good guy and a worthy recipient of the award.
