There was a time, about a year ago now, where you couldn't move for news stories surrounding a Stephen King adaptation. Well they died down for a while, barring The Dark Tower, but now it seems new life has been breathed back into them.
Warner Brothers have announced that they plan the bring David Yates in to direct the huge novel.
If that name sounds familiar its because he's the guy who's directed the last few Harry Potter movies, so he knows a little something about adapting a well loved story.
From what I've read it was Warner Brothers who were the most likely studio to pick up The Dark Tower after Universal passed so its quite surprising that this news has been released.
This adaptation will be more 'movie' themed than the TV movie that was made back in 1994 and didn't entirely satisfy the fans of the book. Rumours have it that this will also span over a couple of films but these are unconfirmed.
Still, with potential oodles of money to be had, who's to say to go for broke and grab them both?
More news if and when we get it.
