I've blogged many times about the quality Pixar offers in its movies. Well I've just come across a Pixar direct to DVD movie called Planes.
Its billed as if its supposed to sit right alongside Cars but the strange thing that's being reported is that Pixar doesn't seem to be listed anywhere on it. Strange.
I find it odd that Pixar would start to deal in straight to DVD movies because, well lets face it, they're not know for being an outstanding offering hence the absence of a cinema run.
I can only assume that this is a cash in from the upcoming Cars 2 and is being greenlit and run by Disney themselves. Lets face it, any company that's willing to tarnish greats like Jungle Book with Jungle Book 2: Mogwli saves Christmas* would be willing to do the same here.
The story surrounds a plane called Dusty who dreams of competing in a round the world plane race but has a problem. He's afraid of heights. Eeek!
Its only a teaser trailer so it doesn't show that much but hey, news is in short supply today.
* This was made up, Mogwli never saved Christmas, it was Ernest all the way.
