This is a lot more polished, slicker and high budget than the original but then we already new that it would be and to be fair I think it looks pretty good.
Over the past few years I've grown more attached to the Arnold movie. I remember watching it back in the nineties and not being impressed, I was more interested in seeing Arnold in more current and futuristic escapades (Commando, Red Heat, Terminator etc etc) so kind of classed Conan as one of his weaker efforts. Ah the ignorance of youth.
Over time though I've come to realise that it is in fact a great movie, fantastic narrative and a story that flows. I've since re-watched Conan The Destroyer and yes this is still rubbish but Red Sonja still holds up pretty well.
So although this new outing for the Barbarian is going to be very different maybe that's a good thing. Apparently its more closer to the source material than the first so we'll see what it's like.
Conan! What is best in life? To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, hear the lamentation of their women and watch the trailer below. That is good! That is good.
