The last we heard Anchorman 2 was dead in the water. Paramount weren't interested in stumping up the cash and that was that. Or so we thought.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Will Ferrell was asked about the sequel and if he thought it would ever get going. He had this to say:
"It's a little peculiar, On the one hand, we were being begged to do a sequel for such a long time, and then we finally came up with a concept that we liked, we talked to Paramount and everyone was up for it.
“And then to get the reaction we got, yeah, it's slightly puzzling to us. But you know what? It's also their money. They get to do or not do whatever they want. So we'll see.
We're still going back and forth. Maybe there is a solution. Or, I know in talking to Adam McKay, if it never happens, then it never happens. And that's fine too. So we'll just see.”
Nothing concrete then but I like the sound of "going back and forth". That must mean there's on-going discussions surrounding this.
Here's hoping we get to see Ron Burgundy once more in one of those suits that are so good they make Sinatra look like a hobo.
